What happened to the golden tooth?
The American magazine Linn's Stamp News, contains a remarkable message on the occasion of a stamp dedicated to Cesar Chavez, frontman of the American farm-hands. The stamp shows Chavez with a shining smile.
But, as Rob Haeseler writes it in Linn's, where's golden tooth of Chavez? He points at the fact that the tooth was about the trademark of Chavez in the sixties, when he was often featured in newspapers and on tv. On the hand of pictures of Chavez, it can easily be seen that the leader of the farm-hands one day (it's not entirely clear when) must have changed his famous golden tooth for a simple white false tooth. Why USPS chose for a portray without the golden tooth is not clear. 'The family of Chavez has approved of our design', is the only thing a spokesman of the American postal services wishes to say about it.
